Equally as important as knowing when to push harder and battle through fatigue or resistance, is knowing when to take a break.
These last few weeks have been, quite frankly, stressful.
As owners and entrepreneurs, we subject ourselves to extreme pressure and self-scrutiny. Most of the time this drives us towards an objective. And through the majority of those times, we maintain composure and balance.
But every now and then, life deals a difficult hand and the idea of battling through can feel overwhelming.
Without oversharing I’ve had an ongoing situation with my pre-teen daughter being bullied at her school.
It’s been tough for us as a family but nothing compared to what she’s had to deal with at 12 years old.
So it’s fair to say that this week I haven’t exactly had the “creative flow” the same way I normally would.
This brings me back to my original point: knowing when to take a break. It’s okay to stop spinning the plates for a day, or two, or even a whole week!
All of us, regardless of what we do professionally need a moment every now and then and that is 100% fine.
Listen to your body. Be kind to yourself. And rest up.
Next week I’ll be back with creative juices ready to explode.
Might need to rephrase that last sentence.
See you then 🐙
